As India works to develop a strong domestic semiconductor ecosystem, KLA joined other industry leaders to uncover new business opportunities, gain insights and experience new technologies at SemiconIndia 2023.

Themed around “Catalyzing India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem,” the second SemiconIndia event showcased India as a global hub for semiconductor design, manufacturing and technology development to help propel the government’s vision of India Semiconductor Mission (ISM). Prior to the conference, SEMI announced its intention to host SemiconIndia in partnership with ISM.

“We are at an inflection point for India’s semiconductor aspirations, and this event was a culmination of a multiyear effort from the government, trade bodies and key industry players. We learnt about infrastructure readiness, government support and various investments from various companies that helps us to be prepared to support our future customers in this region.”

The energy at the five-day event was upbeat and positive, as global leaders from industry, academia and research institutions came together to showcase India’s semiconductor strategy and policy.

The conference was power-packed with multiple panel sessions highlighting diverse aspects of the industry. Topics included next-gen computing, semiconductor packaging, future designs and investment opportunities. Ahmad Khan, president, Semiconductor Process Control, KLA, shared his insights on India’s role in semiconductor equipment innovation and research as the country builds a resilient semiconductor supply chain.

Around 4,000 SemiconIndia attendees visited KLA’s booth, which showcased the company’s comprehensive portfolio that includes advanced inspection, metrology and software solutions for the semiconductor ecosystem. Visiting booth was the prime minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi, who explored the role of the process control equipment industry and KLA’s role in India.
