This week we’d like to feature Chi-Ping Liu, a KLA applications development engineer, who models – and not in the typical sense of the word. Instead of posing for photographs, he helps model simulations for customers.
An expert in research and development, Chi-Ping is based in Taiwan and helps drive innovation through best known methods for ADI/AEI HS (after-develop inspection/after-etch inspection hotspot) analysis from lithography to etch simulation modeling. Chi-Ping is also responsible for providing local technical support, product marketing and managing customer relationships in Asia.
Instead of providing physical inspections, Chi-Ping has been focused on building simulation models that use light-waves for our customers’ future product ideas.
Chi-Ping said most of his team is based in the U.S. but their customer base spans across the globe. Because of the global demand for KLA’s solutions, teams are often comprised of individuals from different states, countries and continents. He joked that the greatest challenge is not in advancing humanity – it’s finding times to meet that make sense across time zones.
When asked to describe KLA in two words, Chi-Ping said “diverse” and “multidisciplinary.” At KLA, we build high-performing teams with both diversity of background and skillset in mind. Hiring individuals with a variety of skills and ideas allows us to approach a challenge from every angle and identify the best solutions for our customers.
