KLA Foundation expanding the KLA Education Equity Fund to $1.5 million in 2024 and is making its multiyear grants available globally for nonprofits that inspire increased access to a quality education in communities with substantial need.
The Education Equity Fund is designed to address root causes of inequity among underserved and under-resourced K-12 students in the United States and at secondary and post-secondary schools outside the U.S. by:
- Expanding access to education with a focus on STEM by funding technology or programming that removes barriers
- Advancing emotional well-being by supporting the development of sustained social-emotional and mental health support
- Improving educational systems by influencing change in policies and curriculum and supporting a diverse talent pipeline.
KLA Foundation launched the Education Equity Fund in 2023 by awarding $1 million in grants to four U.S.-based educational nonprofits. In 2024, nonprofits outside the United States can also apply for grants of $50,000-$250,000 per year for one, two or three years to fund specific initiatives that have a clear and direct connection to improving the quality of educational outcomes and experiences.
The foundation will prioritize applicants based on sustainable, long-term benefits that continue after the grant period ends; ability to monitor, assess and document the impact of change and progress being made; and demonstrated strong potential for replication by other organizations and institutions.
Nonprofits must submit letters of intent by April 30, 2024; formal applications are due July 5, 2024. KLA Foundation will notify organizations receiving grants in August 2024.
“The Education Equity Grant program supports KLA Foundation’s commitment to help create opportunities and increase long-term access to educational resources by supporting students in underrepresented communities throughout their unique educational journeys,” Jen says.
