KLA’s U.S. Sites Focus Volunteerism on Children, Fighting Hunger
Employees in California, Michigan, Oregon, New Jersey and Arizona assembled bikes for underserved kids, made activity kits for children with medical challenges and packed food for hungry people.

New Jersey Employees Support Kids with Medical Challenges and Book Drive
Employee activities in New Jersey benefitted kids across the state.
Seventy-one employees volunteered through Project Sunshine to support children with medical challenges by assembling 500 activity kits that were delivered to medical facilities.

In another activity, New Jersey employees had a goal: They committed to collect 250 books for the Bridge of Books Foundation. However, the team overdelivered and donated 482 books to the foundation for distribution to underserved children statewide.

For SiE (Science is Elementary), employees assembled 4,000 kits for distribution by the Milpitas Unified School District and several nonprofits.
Ann Arbor, Michigan Employees Build Bikes and STEM Kits
Employees built 20 bikes for donation to Free Bikes 4 Kidz-Detroit and assembled approximately 1,500 STEM kits for local youth served by Science is Elementary.

KLA China: Helping Kids in Need

Twenty-four employees accompanied urban migrant children on a field trip to the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium, working with them on projects that included painting starfish. The KLA Shanghai site arranged the visit with an NGO for the children ages 8-13 who have migrated to the city with their parents from rural areas. Each of the 24 participating children received a “Children’s Ocean Encyclopedia” from KLA.
