As the Japanese government and chip makers work to grow the local semiconductor industry, the final SEMICON event of 2023 in Tokyo presented an opportunity for global technology companies to meet in person and search for solutions.
More than 960 companies and organizations from 19 countries showcased emerging technologies, human resources solutions and other issues critical to the semiconductor industry at SEMICON Japan. Exhibitors noted more Chinese, Korean and European visitors to their booths than in past years.
KLA’s ECI division was on site to showcase their solutions for chemical process control that support a wide range of semiconductor and electronics manufacturing segments, from advanced wafer-level packaging, to circuit board and LED industries, to research and development labs.
KLA Japan has supported manufacturers in the region for decades, delivering tools and solutions for analyzing and detecting defects as well as improving and managing production yield.
“With confidence growing among semiconductor companies in Japan, there is great potential for KLA to help the local manufacturing business grow,” Shin Yamamura says. “Many visitors to our booth at SEMICON Japan asked about KLA’s technologies and solutions.”
