In 2023, KLA Korea marked 30 years of offering the company’s industry-leading process control and process-enabling solutions to the electronics industry – and the future is full of possibilities.
From building new facilities to meet customer commitments to supporting the next generation of technologists, KLA Korea is preparing for the future. Recent initiatives include:
In Yongin, KLA has expanded customer support and collaboration by opening a new Learning and Knowledge Services training center.
A new office at a semiconductor cluster in Pyeongtaek is close to customers. Local KLA Services employees as well as install engineering and application teams are using the facility.
“The new office in Pyeongtaek is indicative of our support for the customers, which have been building fabs and expanding continuously, so we had to enhance support capabilities to meet their needs,” says Yong Subin, KLA Korea Global Workplace Services, who is project manager for the new facility.
KLA is deeply engaged with customers in multiple sectors including consumer electronics, 5G, automotive, IT and entertainment.
As major semiconductor companies continue to expand and build new facilities in South Korea to meet emerging needs, Yanghyong expects the market to continue growing well into the future.
“The semiconductor business right now is very important around the world, and we have to be innovative to stay ahead of the market,” she says. “Helping customers find the right solutions is an area where KLA has very strong leadership, so I believe we have a bright future.”
As part of KLA Korea’s focus on the future of technology, the KLA Korea Foundation supports STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education for women and youth in the Gyeonggi-do region through mentoring and sponsorship of robotics competitions.
